Randy Forrester, Rector (Sr. Pastor)
I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and later attended Georgia Tech and I still cheer for the Yellow Jackets! One might mistake me for an engineer, but I was one of the few that escaped with a liberal arts degree (International Affairs). After college, I spent three wonderful years in Washington, DC working for a U.S. Congressman. There, I met my wife Paisley at a coffee shop in the shadow of the Capitol dome. My aunt and her mom were friends and conspired to get us together... it worked! We soon married and were ready for a new adventure. I had tasted politics and felt it was time to move on to my favorite subject – theology. We moved to Vancouver, BC where I studied at Regent College for a Masters of Divinity.
I met Jesus (or he met me) at a very young age. I can’t remember a time not relating to him. But, along the way, Jesus has led me through several “conversion-like” experiences, showing me more about himself, and what following him looks like. Most of my life I have felt called to spend my time and energy serving Jesus in his Church. I used to daydream about preaching sermons to an imaginary congregation. I deeply enjoy learning about God through the scriptures and reading theology. But nothing compares to the joy of having some of that head-knowledge penetrate your heart and transform your life.
Paisley and I have a daughter named Azure. She is a rumbling, tumbling, mumbling ball of joy and pleasure (most days!).
I have a soft spot in my heart (or stomach) for cheeses of all kinds, wine, Belgium beers, and chewy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. My ears are most happy when they hear choral music, jazz, or acoustic folk.

Pam Powell, Director of Children’s Ministries
I have loved babies and children as far back as I can remember. I grew up as an only child in Greenville, South Carolina. A big family was always a dream of mine. My husband and I have three adult children and eight grandchildren. Including my Mom, we have seventeen of us on a family vacation. That is definitely a picture of God’s grace to a lonely, only child.
As a child I went to Church every Sunday so I knew the bible stories and I knew about Jesus, but I never let Him get past my head. In the early years of our marriage I decided that Jesus lived at Pawleys Island, South Carolina, (where my in-laws went to church). That way we could visit Him on special occasions like Christmas and Easter. I gave him no part of my everyday life.
I was thirty-six when Jesus came after my heart. He came in such a powerful way that I knew I never again wanted to try to live my life without Him in it. Looking back at my life before and after Jesus, I would describe it as if I had been walking down a long dark road feeling alone and lost and then having someone take my hand and lead me into the most beautiful daylight, looking up and seeing Jesus beside me and knowing I was at home at last.
That is the message I want our children and babies to hear. Jesus loves them and so do we. If I can be a part of their understanding what a relationship with Jesus looks, feels and tastes like (we do love snacks) my prayers for them will be answered.
The children that come into my life at King of Kings have a unique way of showing me The Kingdom of Heaven and I thank God for that privilege each week.

J. Mark Landon, Assistant Pastor
I grew up in the Northern Virginia area and attended James Madison University (JMU) in Harrisonburg, Virginia. I majored in Spanish with a minor in psychology. During my time at JMU, I became involved with the Baptist Student Union where I developed a passion for relational ministry and building community. Upon graduation, I spent two years in Miami working for a bilingual church plant as a volunteer while working in a restaurant which continued my education in ministry and engaging our culture. I moved back to Northern Virginia and in October of 1994 was married to my wife Jessica. From day one, we have been partners together in ministry. Shortly after we were married we began to volunteer with Young Life, an outreach to local high school students. After about six months as volunteers I went on staff with Young Life and spent the next six years in various roles with Young Life. Young Life gave me a passion for those who don’t know Jesus and the ability to build relational bridges for the sake of the Gospel. After leaving Young Life staff, I began working for our local church as the Youth Pastor, staying there for four years, and ending my time there with a 10-week sabbatical trip after 10 years in youth ministry. I have now been involved in ministry for fourteen years and I am still growing and learning about the best way to serve God and His people for the good of His Kingdom. I currently serve as the Pastor of Youth and Community here at King of Kings and I am happy to serve you!
By the way, just for fun, I thought you might like to know some of the other jobs I have worked. I have worked as a roast beef carver, a busboy, a cook, a waiter, a language specialist, a daycare teacher, and as a packaging specialist in a gun factory. It’s all taught me to better serve Christ, at least that’s my hope.
I am currently enrolled at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in a dual degree program entailing a Masters of Divinity and a Masters of Arts in Christian Counseling.
For fun, I like to sleep, eat, mountain bike, and read, and I love to laugh (mostly at myself!).

Tami Allee, Administrative Assistant
Growing up in Salinas, CA (birthplace of John Steinbeck and lettuce capitol of the world!), I was fortunate to be raised in a Christian home where I came to know Christ at an early age. My college years were spent in Southern California where I attended Biola University and majored in Sociology. Biola’s commitment to have students actively involved with community service efforts opened numerous opportunities. From working with inner city children one summer in Philadelphia, PA to counseling at a group home for troubled teen girls the following summer in San Jose, CA, I experienced life and community in a variety of settings. I also had the opportunity to lead a community Bible club for children in the inner city of Watts, CA and establish relationships with women at a homeless shelter program run by the Los Angeles Mission.
After college, I relocated to London, England where I worked at Harrods for a year and then back packed through Europe for three months visiting eight countries. It was during these travels that God began calling me into ministry giving me a heart for the Europeans. In 1997, I moved to Brussels, Belgium serving as a missionary with Greater Europe Mission (GEM) for five years where I helped plant an international English-speaking church. It was during my time in Brussels that I met my husband Jeff who often visited from the States with short-term mission’s teams. We were engaged in Paris, France, married in Monterey, CA and then moved to Charlotte, NC where Jeff was working. We have a fun-loving son Nathan who is truly a blessing and gift to us.
Traveling in Europe, spending quality time with my husband and son, visiting my family in California, having afternoon tea at a fancy hotel, enjoying a good meal with family and friends and eating Belgium chocolates...these are a few of my favorite things.
