Confirmations ~ Sunday, October 25

Bishop David Bryan will be joining us. Contact Fr. Joel if you are interested in Confirmation.

In our Anglican family, the bishop has a unique and important role of authority and leadership, drawn from the apostles themselves. The bishop is the lead pastor and shepherd of each diocese, who guards the faith and embodies faithful leadership. Anglican churches, among others, practice Confirmation, whereby candidates express a mature commitment to Christ and receive strength from the Holy Spirit by prayer and the laying on of hands by the bishop.

Open to all baptized Christians, Confirmation has been called "the ordination of the laity," and it's particularly suited for those who hunger and thirst for more of the Holy Spirit's power and presence in their daily lives. Historically, Confirmation has also served another purpose - it's a chance for a Christian to "complete their baptism" by making a mature, public profession of faith and to further receive the empowerment of the Holy Spirit in their life and ministry. Confirmation is suited to both young adults and older adults and is a clear, joyous way of calling the Anglican tradition your home.
